Top Healthy Fall Activities

The hot summer days are officially behind us, and sweater weather is in full force. Head outside to exercise and enjoy the fall weather while it lasts.

1. Take a hike.

Utah is known for some of the most beautiful hikes in the country. So grab your family and hit the trails to see the colors of autumn. Our favorite scenic fall hikes include Silver Lake, Red Pine Lake, Desolation Lake, and Lake Blanche.

2. Play in the leaves.

Playing in the leaves is a fun fall activity for families. But before you jump in the leaks, you’ll have to rake your lawn. Raking leaves is a great heart-pumping activity that can help you burn hundreds of calories.

3. Go pumpkin picking.

Head to your local farmers market and try to find the biggest pumpkin in the patch. If you don’t plan on carving the pumpkin, incorporate it into a dish for an unbelievably delicious and healthy treat.

4. Enjoy a hayride.

While you’re at the pumpkin patch, enjoy a hayride. This popular fall activity is a fun way for families to enjoy the season together.

5. Go for a bike ride.

To soak up the fall scenery and enjoy the fresh fall air, we recommend taking a leisurely bike ride. Biking is a great way to build lower body strength and improve your mood. An hour-long bike ride can burn up to 200 calories.

6. Play flag football.

Fall and football go together like pb&j. Round up the family or grab a group of friends and play an hour of flag football. Not only is football a great workout, but it’s also a bonding experience.

7. Navigate a corn maze.

This fun fall activity doubles as exercise. The longer it takes to solve the maze, the more steps you and your family will rack up.
